Pilkington Special Glass (PSG) produces polished glass discs for all CD and DVD mastering systems and data storage applications.  Glass produced in Pilkington float plants is specially selected for thickness, flatness and parallelism. Glass sheets are then machined and polished to meet tight edge and surface specifications. Super-polished substrates for HD-DVD are produced with strict attention to micro-defects and cleanliness.   Customization includes:  metal hubs, engraved identification codes and process triggers, chemical strengthening and central holes with tight concentricity.
